“What we love, we are likely to protect, and to love something we must know it. Natural settings afford the children direct experience with a world not made by humans where we can feel ourselves a part of a larger community of life.”

— Lia Grippo, CAFS co-president

Mission

The Association is committed to the renewal of a culture of kinship. We are in service to the development of high quality forest schools to support and protect the land, the children and each other.

The purpose of the organization is to improve the conditions and quality of forest schools by promoting the public’s understanding of forest schools, and by promoting communication, cooperation, and best practices among forest schools and the communities they serve.
